Bridge Fencing

Bridge fencing provides protection to pedestrians crossing the bridge as well as to those navigating below or adjacent to the structure. Fencing is generally required on bridges pursuant to Federal, State, and City codes subject to appropriate engineering judgement. DOT’s standard bridge fencing maximizes visibility and reduces maintenance via simple T-flanged posts and tensioned chain-link. DOT will install and maintain fencing along bridges.
