This section provides technical guidance for selecting and delivering DOT-compliant lighting and signal infrastructure. All design work must conform to DOT standards for safety, durability, and consistency across the public right-of-way.
For design criteria, finishes, color specifications, and technical standards, designers must refer to the DOT Street Lighting Standard Drawings Book. This document includes required drawings and information for all elements in the Lighting Catalogue, including poles, luminaires, foundations, and other components. The book is accessible through the Spec and Detail Finder tool. For further information, contact DOT Street Lighting at (212) 839-3359
