Activations in the right-of-way can incorporate a range of components. From seating and performance stages to temporary structures, this section provides typical dimensions of commonly used components such as crowd barricades, movable seating, pop-up tents, yoga mats, stages, and folding tables. While each component is modeled for reference below, it is important to note that sizing can vary significantly based on the component, site constraints, activation needs, and agency regulations. The component diagrams are meant to serve as general guidance.
The arrangement of these components can vary in scale depending on the specific use and size of an activation. The permitting and application process for these activations may also differ based on agency jurisdiction. For guidance on event size classifications and required approvals, refer to SAPO’s Special Event page. For more information, review Public Realm Programming.
